Addis Ababa is where almost every Ethiopia tour starts. The National Museum holds the fossil known as Lucy. Holy Trinity and the ethnological museum at the university fill a second morning. Merkato is one of the largest open markets in Africa. Entoto and the newer Unity Park are the viewpoints.
Give the city at least one full day on each end of a trip. Bole is the hotel district near the airport. Piazza and Kazanchis suit people who want to walk to museums. This is also where you meet the tour company.
